The Isola 2000 skier became world champion this Friday in Cortina d'Ampezzo. His second gold medal after the one won in parallel.

Frenchman Mathieu Faivre became, this Friday in Cortina d'Ampezzo (Italy), world champion in the giant slalom.

Already titled in parallel, the 29-year-old skier created a surprise by winning a second gold medal.

Leader after the first round and big favorite of the event, Alexis Pinturault made a mistake in the second round.

“It's unreal, I don't believe it.

I made some mistakes in this 2nd heat and didn't know what to expect at the finish.

I'm still a little sad for Alexis (Pinturault).

It would have been awful if we were two on the podum.

I am the parallel and giant world champion, it's incredible, ”commented the Isola 2000 skier.
