Despite the criticism from many stars in the league, the annual All-Star Game will take place this year as well, and this time too will include all the star battery the NBA has to offer.

Tonight (Thursday through Friday) the players will be announced to man the top five in a game to be held on March 7 in Atlanta.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant will serve as captains of both teams after receiving the majority of votes by fans, players and coaches, and will make "forces" to select the top five and staff at a special event three days before the game.

The eight players who will be available for the five-man squad are Kyrie Irving, Bradley Bill, Yannis Antokompo, Joel Ambide, Luka Doncic, Kwai Leonard and Nikola Jukic.

Doncic made the list thanks to the fan votes, which served as a tiebreaker after finishing with the same number of general votes with Damian Lillard, who is recording a wonderful season in the Portland uniform but remains out of the top five.

James Harden, Anthony Davis, Paul George and Donovan Mitchell were also left out of the top five - with Utah, the team with the best balance in the NBA by a large margin, not sending a single representative.
