Everyone expected a fight that will bring together Said Mulai and Sagi Muki in the up to 81 kg final at the Tel Aviv Grand Slam today (Friday), but only one side fulfilled its part.
After Muki was eliminated in his first battle, the Iranian qualified for the finals and secured a historic medal on Israeli soil.
Moulay, representing Mongolia, opened the day with a win over Takaev of Azerbaijan in the second round.
He then also defeated the Italian Esposito and in the quarterfinals ousted the German Russell.
In the semi-finals, he defeated the Russian Lapinagov in the iPhone and advanced to the finals, with applause in the background at the Drive-In Hall in Tel Aviv.
