FC Bayern is hit by the corona virus.
After many positive cases, the health department could even impose group quarantine.
Munich - The corona virus * is at Bayern *.
Four players were infected with Covid-19 this year.
Last met Thomas Müller at the controversial Club World Cup and Benjamin Pavard on Thursday.
Now the health department intervenes.
Leon Goretzka * and Javi Martinez were the first FCB players to test positive for the corona virus.
The infections were confirmed on January 29th.
In the meantime, both stars have recovered and should be available to coach Hansi Flick *, who recently had a dispute with expert Karl Lauterbach *, for the Bundesliga guest game in Frankfurt on Saturday.
On Tuesday, the German record champions * will travel to Rome - the Champions League round of 16 against Lazio is coming up.
It is suddenly uncertain whether these games will even come about.
FC Bayern: health department investigates corona cases - group quarantine threatens
The many corona cases in Bavaria have called the responsible health department in Munich on the scene.
A group quarantine of the team could be in the room.
However, the authority
has not yet come
to a decision after a
sports
show request.
"A health department basically has the right to quarantine a company or association; the necessary measures are decided and carried out depending on the result of the investigations," it said literally in a statement.
"In the present case, the investigation continues."
The most important question is: Did the infected players have any contact with people who are considered Category I contacts?
This category includes people who have been in contact with the infected person for longer than 15 minutes without a mouth and nose protection.
It now needs to be clarified whether this applies to all or part of the teammates and whether they have to be quarantined.
"This procedure is used for every infected person, regardless of their profession, club or league membership," writes the Munich Health Department.
FC Bayern is fighting against coronavirus and is "tested every day"
Since Thomas Müller * was infected, the club has been “tested every day,” said Flick at the press conference on Friday.
"We have a good hygiene concept." Nevertheless, in view of the positive tests, even more caution is required.
“We make sure that we stick to things even more and look at them even more conscientiously.
Just wear a mask, keep your distance, "said Flick and added:" I think we're doing pretty well. "
In the Bundesliga, only one team, TSG Hoffenheim, has been quarantined so far, albeit voluntarily.
In the 2nd Bundesliga there were two such measures by the authorities at Erzgebirge Aue and in the preseason at Dynamo Dresden.
If there are no further positive tests, FC Bayern should be able to avoid group quarantine.
