After a historic participation in the Tel Aviv Grand Slam, and despite the disappointment following the loss in the final, Said Mulai came down from the podium when he was very excited.

The Iranian judoka, who came to represent the Mongolian team, lost in the final to Shropidin Boltboev from Uzbekistan, but nevertheless celebrated a historic silver medal on Israeli soil.

In the battle in which he promised to participate in the final - and to win a medal - Moulay defeated Aslan to the Russian Pingov.

After the distribution of the medals, Mulai took the opportunity to talk to the Israeli journalists.

“My two days here have been good, but in terms of the competition itself it went a little less well,” Moulay said.

"Thank you all, I was happy to come to Tel Aviv and win my first medal. I hope next time I will win gold."

Mulai was asked if he was happy to compete in Israel: "Yes, but I am an athlete and not a politician. I am very happy to represent Mongolia in the competition in Israel. Thank you to all the Israeli audience, thank you Ponti to the Israeli people and all Iranians living in Israel. I feel safe here."

Mulai was asked about not meeting Sagi Muki in the final: "He is a friend of mine, and I hope next time we will meet in the final."

Mulai was asked about the Israelis he had met so far: "The Israelis I met were all friendly and people with a warm and good heart."
