Danny Abdia practices shooting after Washington's loss to Toronto (from the Wizards' Twitter)
Danny Abdia started his NBA career in a very positive way, but in recent weeks has faded a bit and even dropped to the Washington bench.
The young Israeli is still trying to find his way in the best league in the world, and in the shadow of Bradley Bill and Russell Westbrook, and in a review conducted by "Athletic" reporter John Hollinger, Abdia was not selected as one of the standout Rockies of the round so far.
"The classic case of a player who started in the top five because he was selected in a high place," Hollinger stated.
"It's not like he was bad, he just ... didn't really make an impact, with an efficiency index (PER) of 8.9, and only 13.8 points per 100 passers. Abdia has size and mobility, and his defensive ability was quite encouraging. He also scored quite well. "When he was free from outside the arc (35.5 percent). However, we still haven't seen much of what he showed in Europe, the ability to catch the ball and run forward, and his situations in the game stand pretty much add up to static shots."

Abdia started the season in 16 of the 22 games in which he partnered and averaged 6.8 points (42 percent from the field, 35 percent from 3, 58 percent from the line), along with 4.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
"His free throws, due to Achilles in Europe, are not really a factor so far because he never gets to the line - only 19 attempts in 22 games," Hollinger added.
"What's positive is that his delivery abilities are as good as we were told. He had some nice dedications despite the secondary role and he averages close to two assists on every loss."
