Daniil Medvedev is opponent of defending champion Novak Djokovic in the final of the Australian Open on Sunday (9.30 a.m.; TV: Eurosport).
The ATP Finals winner won in the semi-finals in Melbourne against the Greek world number six Stefanos Tsitsipas 6: 4, 6: 2, 7: 5.
The 25-year-old Russian moved into his second Grand Slam final after the US Open 2019 and has another chance of winning his first title in one of the four most important tournaments.
But Djokovic is the favorite.
The Serbian world number one entered the final on Thursday with a three-set win against Russian qualifier Aslan Karazew.
For Medvedev it was the 20th win in a row.
Twelve of these successes came against top 10 players.
Even by reaching the semi-finals, it was clear that he would oust US Open winner Dominic Thiem from third place in the world rankings next week.
If Medvedev wins his first Grand Slam title, he will even move past Rafael Nadal to second.
