Maccabi Haifa goalkeeper Josh Cohen officially became a citizen today (Saturday).

For the past year, Cohen has been on the standard of a temporary resident and now, as mentioned, the person who became the league's first goalkeeper is an ordinary citizen.

Cohen received an identity card after arriving at the Ministry of the Interior accompanied by his lawyer, Liat Steinberg Harlamp, who handled the case from the beginning.

Josh swore allegiance to the state and officially received Israeli citizenship and a passport and was granted new immigrant status.

Josh immigrated to Israel a year ago with the aim of joining Maccabi Haifa and settling in Israel, after being educated and raised in a Jewish home in the United States.

Afterwards, Cohen said: "This is a very happy and exciting day.

The process was long, but it was worth it and now I can continue to play and live in Israel as a citizen. "

Regarding the Israeli team, the goalkeeper who is in excellent shape still can not play due to FIFA restrictions regarding citizens.
