While the Israeli team is playing in the European Championship qualifiers in Poland, tonight (Saturday) Maccabi Tel Aviv will meet Bnei Herzliya in a game that was advanced from the 18th round.
The two teams meet because neither of them has active representatives in the ranks of the national teams, with Herzliya's big victory from the first round in the background - 86:92 after extra time.
The Yellows returned to Israel last night after the disappointing loss to Milan in their return to the Euroleague after three and a half weeks, which significantly reduced their chances of reaching the top 8. Scotty Wilbkin who did not score a single point in Italy was left out of the squad, as were Othello Hunter and Elijah Bryant.
Bnei Herzliya, on the other hand, was already deep in last place in the table after seven rounds, with no wins, but since then Sharon Drucker's team has made a big change in ability and balance with five wins from seven games, and even came close to the place leading to the playoffs.
Trell Parks was left out of the squad.
