Sun, a net in the sand, men in shorts and women in sports bikini.
So you usually know the pictures of tournaments of the beach volleyball professionals.
In March there will also be a World Tour tournament in Doha.
After seven editions of men's tournaments, Qatar is allowing women to participate for the first time this year.
But the pictures will then be different.
Because the authorities have set dress codes for the tournament.
The players should start in shirts and knee-length pants.
Germany's currently best team has therefore already announced that it will not.
Karla Borger and Julia Sude, in 16th place in the world, do not want to participate under these circumstances.
"We don't want to support that," they tell SPIEGEL in a video call.

The volleyball world association FIVB confirmed the dress code to SPIEGEL.
It is said that you respect the culture and traditions of the host country and look forward to the tournament.
The players had been asked about the dress code and had shown their agreement.
