Borussia Dortmund won the Revierderby at FC Schalke 4-0 (2-0).
Jadon Sancho gave BVB the lead (42nd minute), Erling Haaland increased before the break (45th), and both goals were spectacular in different ways: Before Sanchos 1-0, Schalke's Benjamin Stambouli lost the ball deeply in his own half , and the 2-0 was a goal of the brand Traumtor, Haaland scored it with a side pull after a cross from Sancho.
Raphaël Guerreiro scored the third BVB goal (60th), Haaland made the final score with his second goal (79th).
As many times before, Schalke also seemed equal in this game, at least in phases, only to make decisive mistakes.
Except for a Sancho shot from the beginning (7th, goalkeeper Ralf Fährmann parried), the hosts did not allow any real scoring chances.
The Schalke, who were lurking on the counterattack, didn't even get a single clear opportunity.
The mistakes followed, and Stambouli's one was particularly serious.
At first he was lucky not to have lost the ball against Sancho in his own penalty area;
then Stambouli put the ball too far in front of him and gave it away.
Sancho then got the ball and overcame the Schalke keeper Michael Langer, who had been substituted for the ailing ferryman.

The 2-0 win should be a contender for the "Goal of the Year" award.
Sancho was not disturbed on the left and crossed high towards the second post, where Schalke's Bastian Oczipka was not defending close enough to Haaland.
The 20-year-old took off and made a side pull, he hit the ball clean and scored the second goal.
The third goal fell right in the middle of what was by far the best Schalke phase.
Suat Serdar had failed a few minutes earlier because of BVB goalkeeper Marwin Hitz and the post (50th), and Matthew Hoppe couldn't get past Hitz after a mistake by Mats Hummels (53rd).
Dortmund looked surprised in these minutes if the defeated opponent believed.
Nevertheless, the game was decided shortly afterwards, because Schalke played more offensively, but did not remain flawless at the back.
Guerreiro served Marco Reus and promptly got the ball back, he was able to finish in the penalty area and scored (60th).
In the closing stages, substitute Jude Bellingham crossed flat from the right in front of the goal, where Haaland scored his second goal from close range after running a feint in front of his guard Malick Thiauw, only to move quickly behind him (79. ).
There was nothing left of the Schalke swing anyway.
Dortmund remains sixth in the table;
and for Schalke the chance of staying up is getting smaller.
The Bundesliga 18.
has nine points after just one win out of 22 games.
The deficit on the relegation rank is also nine points, with Bielefeld, who is currently 16th, played one game less than S04.
And so this Revierderby could have been the last of its kind in the Bundesliga for the time being.
