Hapoel Tel Aviv
On May 9, 2007, Hapoel Tel Aviv needed penalties to beat Hapoel Ashkelon from the national league in the state cup final and lift it for the 13th time.
Also in the quarterfinals in 2011 the Reds were the ones to win, and tomorrow (Monday, 20:30, Sport 5 Stars) they will host Ashkelon again, this time reaching Bloomfield in the eighth round and as the representative of the first division.
The yellowed Danny Gruper will be missing for the host and his place is expected to be filled by the young Doron Leidner, with Nir Klinger likely to make a few more changes to distribute forces ahead of the continuation of the bottom struggles in the league.
The coach said ahead of the game: "We have made all the necessary preparations for tomorrow's game, in the most serious way possible. Like all the teams in the league, we also face a lack of players, but nothing will be an excuse for us."
Striker Shlomi Azulai added: "The trophy is an important enterprise for us and we are fully motivated to win and move on to the next stage. We have our ambitions in the league as well, but at the moment we are all focused on the game against Ashkelon. I hope we continue to show the ability that characterizes us lately."

The finalist from 2007 was relegated to the first division at the end of last season and after the dissolution passed to Yair Danel and Snir Naftali.
Ashkelon is in fourth place in House B of the Southern District, and on Friday recorded a fifth draw (out of eight games) when it finished 0-0 with the leader Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa.
The young staff of Yair Mazor is led by captain Zion Tzemach, who scored four league goals, and was joined in November by defender Naor Peser.
