Last night (Saturday), Maccabi Tel Aviv recorded its sixth consecutive victory in the Premier League when it defeated Bnei Herzliya 75:98 at home and maintained its advantage at the top of the table.
The players of Yannis Sapropoulos continued their great time in the league, putting behind them the weak game against Milan on Thursday, which significantly reduced their chances of qualifying for the playoffs in the Euroleague.
Yannis Sapropoulos' team looked less good in most stages of the first half, when about five minutes into the half they did lead 31:35 but their defense did not function.
At 36:40, half a minute into the half the team started a 0:12 run into the third quarter and from that moment on did not take the moment off the pedal as the gap only grew.
Six players scored in double digits for the Yellows while above them all were Ante Žižić with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Chris Jones with 14 points and 10 assists.
Oz Blazer with 15 points also had a very good game.
"I think we did a good job in the last five minutes of the first quarter and in the second half," concluded Ante Žižić. "Everyone got to play and everyone did a great job."

Maccabi Tel Aviv were pleased with the recovery from the loss to Milan and especially with the ability of Chris Jones: "It is not easy to come and play after such a moral blow," the club admitted.
"Add to that Scotty's a bit injured, and Elijah and Hunter got a rest, it could have been an excuse for a weak game but we lifted ourselves up in time. He will show consistency there as well and can be trusted at this level for next season. "
Žižić also joined in the compliments to Jones: "He did a very good job, with 10 assists, that's a lot. He put every player on the field into the game. It's very easy to play with him, he's a good player, a great person, He will continue to play as he plays. "
He, too, pardoned Jones.

Tomorrow, Maccabi Tel Aviv will meet Nahariya in another league game (21:00, Sport 5), when the game is supposed to be the first sporting event in Israel that an audience will enter according to the new outline of the Ministry of Sports.
Maccabi Tel Aviv intends to bring in 300 fans related to the team's sponsors and advertisers, as they did in the Euroleague games when it was possible to do so, and in the second stage, with the increase in the number of spectators, they will also start bringing in an outside audience.
"I am excited for the entrance of the crowd, I have not seen Maccabi fans this season and I look forward to it," said Zizic in response.
