For a long time, the EC Peiting in Deggendorf was very disciplined.
In the final third, however, the team suffered a few penalty times - which was not without consequences.

At the beginning of the final third it looked as if the Peitinger would win against their direct competitors for one of the play-off places.
In just 60 seconds, Simon Maier (41st) and Maximilian Hüsken (42nd) made a 1: 1 lead with an outnumbered goal.
After a short period of shock, the Deggendorfer fought their way back into the game.
In addition, the Peitinger tripped themselves when they allowed themselves several penalties.
The home side did not take long and used the numerical superiority to two goals by Thomas Greilinger (51st) and Andreas Gawlik (56th) - and it was 3: 3.
After a goalless extension, Deggendorf had the better end in the penalty shootout.

The Peitinger started the game very committed, but suffered the first setback early on.
At first goalkeeper Florian Hechenrieder fought off quickly, but a few seconds later he was defeated.
After a sharp cross from Andreas Gawlik, the run-in Andrew Schembri pushed the target from close range to 1-0 over the line (5th).
As a result, the Peitinger kept the game open, but they didn't have any really high-profile chances.
On the other hand, the Peitinger defense was also stable.
The little that was put on the box was safe prey for Hechenrieder.

Right at the beginning of the second section, both teams each had a huge chance.
First, Peitings Aziz Ehliz rushed to the DSC goal alone, but he shot over it (22nd).
On the other hand, goalie Hechenrieder prevented the Peitinger from going 0-2 with a super parade after a Gawlik shot from close range (24th).
After that it went back and forth, the two opponents gave nothing for free.
The Peitinger were finally rewarded for their efforts: At the back gate, Ty Morris captured the pane and immediately fitted it in front of the Deggendorfer gate.
There Thomas Heger was free and finished from a short distance to 1: 1 (35th).
Then ECP goalie Hechenrieder had to fend off the free-standing Gawlik again (36th), before the guests from Upper Bavaria - also due to some penalties against Deggendorf - took over the command.
Manuel Bartsch almost had the 2-1 on the bat with the siren, but he only hit the outside post.
