Engaged on two fronts - the goal of moving up to L2 and the Coupe de France with an enticing round of 16 to be played against Lens on March 7 - the season of the Red Star (National) will be put on hold again.

This fall, the club had already been disturbed by the Covid (9 cases in total) and had to postpone several matches.

After the victory on Saturday against Quevilly RM in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France (2-1), the group and staff underwent PCR tests on Monday morning which revealed the presence of three new positive cases.

In total, the club now has six, including two of the three goalkeepers in the pro group.

The match in Villefranche (21st day) scheduled for Tuesday has already been postponed by the FFF.

This week, the Red Star was also due to travel to Concarneau on Saturday (23rd day).

At the moment, the meeting remains strongly in suspense.

Everything will depend on the new PCR tests that the group will pass Thursday morning.

The training week is maintained normally with negative players.

An overloaded schedule at the time of the final sprint

The appearance of these new cases of Covid comes at the worst time for the Red Star, currently 3rd in National with 14 points behind the leader SC Bastia (but two games less) and 6 on Quevilly RM (2nd).

The postponements of the match will further overload its schedule while the final sprint will be decisive and some affected players may be reduced for a few weeks.

If the Red Star is at rest this Tuesday, Créteil will play his match of the 21st day.

Relegated to 10th place after their defeat on Saturday night at Cholet (2-1) in the wake of their elimination in the Coupe de France against the Red Star three days earlier (2-1), Richard Déziré's players will have to recover against at SC Lyon (17th).
