Tonight (Monday), Hapoel Tel Aviv will host Hapoel Ashkelon in the first division as part of the eighth round of the State Cup.
The two teams have met twice in recent years as part of the factory: in 2011 the Reds won the quarterfinals, while on May 9, 2007 the two teams met in the Cup final, when the Southerners were still in the National League.
Hapoel Tel Aviv needed penalties to subdue Ashkelon then, on the way to the 13th trophy in its history, up to that point in time.
Now Klinger's players want to continue in a row against the Southerners and hope not to stumble.
Apart from Eddie Gottlieb, who was rested, and Danny Gruper, who was yellowed, Nir Klinger chose to come up with a strong lineup, with Shlomi Azulai opening in the lead, while Dan Einbinder, Omri Altman, Lidor Cohen and Doron Leidner were also placed in the starting lineup.
On the other hand, Ashkelon is in fourth place in the second district of the southern district in the first division, and on Friday recorded a fifth draw (out of eight games) this season in the league when it finished 0-0 with the leader Maccabi Kabilio Jaffa.
The young staff of coach Yair Mazor is led by captain Zion Tzemach, who scored four league goals, and was joined in November by defender Naor Peser.
