Very bad news for Real Madrid: The Spanish champions will have to face Atlanta in the Champions League this coming Wednesday without their top scorer Karim Benzema, who has yet to recover from the injury he suffered and also missed the team's recent games.
The 33-year-old Frenchman has scored 18 goals this season and joins a long list of injured that also includes Sergio Ramos, Eden Hazard, Marcelo, Danny Carvajal, Federico Valverda, Rodrigo, Albero Odriosola and Adar Milito.
"We'll have to be careful," Perlan Mendy admitted ahead of tackling the exciting Italian rival.
"We know that this is a team that plays well and scores many goals. It will be difficult and in my opinion a very good game is also expected. We will have to be at our peak to win."
On his coach Zinedine Zidane, the Frenchman said: "He is a legend, and it is a great honor for me to play under him. When you stand next to him he transmits charisma. He has given me a lot of advice and I give everything for him every game."

Whoever might join Blancos next season is David Alaba.
According to Tony Cross, who previously collaborated with Bayern Munich, this is not a safe match.
"I haven't played with him in seven years," he told Sky.
"I read that he is a candidate for Real Madrid, but I have no more information about that. If he is the car player at Bayern I am convinced that he has the qualities for Real, but it seems like an expensive blow."
However, Cross Doug added: "There were a lot of players here with a lot of qualities. You need quality here, you need fitness, but you also need your head to be tidy when things are not going well. It's not enough to have football qualities."
