Luis Suarez today (Monday) gave an extensive interview to France Football magazine and told, among other things, why he decided to leave Barcelona in favor of Atletico Madrid - a decision that, at least for him, looks like bingo.
"I needed a change, especially after everything that happened with the club," he said.
"The hardest thing is when you have a family and you lived in the same place for six years. Explaining to the children that we are going to change things, when they are used to living in Barcelona and all their friends there - it was the hardest. Especially during the plague with its difficulties. We could not really go out in Madrid and the children miss "To their friends and my wife's family in Barcelona. But the positive side must also be seen: I could not be happy where I was not wanted. Now my family feels I am happy, and that is the most important thing."
When Suarez talks about "what happened to the club", he is mainly referring to Barcelona's decision to give it up - the same sudden phone call from Ronald Koeman.
"What really bothered me was that they told me I was an adult and could no longer play at the top level and be part of a great team. That's what made me angry," he revealed.

Of course the whole loss for Barcelona: Together with Lionel Messi, Suarez leads the list of goalscorers this season in La Liga with 16 conquests.
"What is essential is the head," he explained.
"It's important to be mentally strong and to know how to get used to different situations, it has always been one of my characteristics: I never gave up, even in difficult moments. One of the things that motivates me is to show that I can still be trusted. It's a matter of self - confidence. To show that I can still be valuable, even at the top of the Spanish league. "
On his good friend Lionel Messi, the veteran striker said: "Whether he is 33 or 35, the world will always know why Messi is the best player of all time. I hope we continue to enjoy his football."
