Hapoel Beer Sheva signed center Eric Thompson about two weeks ago, and now he is officially joining it.
The American, who played for Hapoel Eilat last season, landed in Israel last night (Sunday), and today the team from the Negev capital announced his signing, after finishing the season in the Korean league.
Thompson (27, 2.04) started his professional career in German Essen four years ago, and has since moved to Lucerne from Switzerland, in the second division in China and Japan, until arriving in Israel last year.
He averaged 11.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in the Premier League until the Corona break.
Thompson will try to help Beer Sheva restore its ability from the start of the season.
It opened the league by storm, with four wins in five games, but since then there has been a setback in its ability - also due to the injury of a star, Caleb Agada, who recently returned to action.
Rami Hadar's team is ranked seventh in the league with a balance of 7: 6, and this weekend will host Maccabi Haifa.
