After two consecutive losses and two days before being hosted by Real Madrid, Zalgiris Kaunas managed to record an important victory tonight (Tuesday) with a 62:73 home win against the Red Star Belgrade in a rematch from the 24th round of the Euroleague.
The Lithuanians improved their balance to 11:14, while the Serbs on 18: 7 and have long since lost a real chance to finish in the top eight.

The Red Star Belgrade actually started well and led already 22:35, but the Lithuanians constantly offset the difference and a 0:10 run gave them a 50:55 advantage after 27 minutes of basketball and from there they already ran all the way to victory with just 4 points in the last quarter.
Marios Grigonis led the scoring with 17 points and 6 assists, Nigel Hayes scored 16 and recorded 5 rebounds, Augustine Rabbit scored 15 and added 8 rebounds.
The Serbs were led by Jordan Lloyd and Marko Simonovic with 16 points each.
