Contested every year without interruption since 1948, the European Under-19 Championship will not be played this year, as was already the case in 2020. The UEFA Executive Committee announced in a press release, he had no choice but to cancel the continental competition for the under 19s for boys but also for girls.
A decision taken due to the Covid-19 pandemic which made the organization of these two competitions too complicated.

In 2020 when the 69th edition was to be held in Northern Ireland, UEFA canceled the competition.
This summer, the best teams from the continent were to meet in Romania.
It will be necessary to wait at best 2022 and an event whose final phase is scheduled in Slovakia.
As a reminder, during the last Euro played in Armenia in 2019, Spain won its 11th title in its history, a record in this competition.
Youth League also canceled
For girls, same cause, same effect, Georgia in 2020 and Belarus in 2021 will not host the finals of the Euro.
The appointment is made in 2022 in the Czech Republic, where France will try to defend its title won in 2019 in Scotland.
These postponements are in addition to that of the Youth League, the Champions League for under 19, which was canceled on February 17.
