After quite a few headlines on the subject in the last week, tonight (Tuesday) Barcelona officially announced the signing of Pau Gasol.

The huge chin who grew up in the Catalans' youth department and left for the NBA in 2001, returns to his youth club after 20 years and joins the squad of Sharonas Jaskevicius.

"I am happy to announce that I am returning home and will soon join Barcelona," Gasol wrote on his official Twitter account.

"I want to give my skills and experience to help the team in the peak stages of the season, while at the same time continuing my recovery in everything related to the physical condition, getting back to the pace and competing at the highest levels."
