Inning - The new fire engine makes the Inning fire brigade much more powerful.

However, it can only be used in the middle of the year.

Holzland pastor Jacek Jamiolkowski has blessed the new fire engine of the Inning fire brigade on a very small scale.

The LF 20 KatS, which costs 365,000 euros, was manufactured by the Ulm company Magirus and replaces the Wehr's 28-year-old previous vehicle.

The Corona restrictions have a problematic effect: exercises to familiarize themselves with the vehicle and, above all, the new equipment, have not yet been able to hold the active participants.

"We are assuming that we will move out with the predecessor until the middle of the year," said Commander Lohmeier, summarizing the difficult situation.

Only then will it be sold by the community - where to, that is not yet certain.

A special feature of the new LF 20 are the 360 meters of extinguishing hose, which can be laid in one piece.

With 1600 liters it also carries almost three times the amount of extinguishing water as the old one.

Up to four respiratory equipment wearers can equip themselves in the crew cabin while they are driving to the scene.

On-site electricity can be generated by a unit with a 14 kVA output, and a new portable pump, a rear pump, a floodlight mast and an overpressure fan are also transported.

This all adds up to a weight of 15 tons, which is moved by 320 hp.

"We are much more powerful than before," says former commander Karl Limmer about the new achievement.

Pastor Jamiolkowski expressed his hope that the fire brigade could always save lives and remain unscathed in the process.

Mayor Michaela Mühlen agreed with this and wished that “you mainly need the vehicle to practice and missions are always successful”.

It took five years - from the decision to buy a vehicle to the inauguration.

The then commandant Limmer had the first talks with the community.

Commander Johannes Lohmeier emphasized this.

He also thanked Mayor Mühlen, the local council and the Moosen fire department.

The Inninger had worked with her on the tender and award.

A few weeks ago an identical LF 20 went to Moosen.

This cooperation enabled supraregional funding of 10,000 euros each.

The government of Upper Bavaria contributed a further 88,000 euros, with the municipality providing the rest.

Above all, the fire brigade invested time and around 700 working hours in the procurement.

It depends on the course of the corona pandemic when the citizens of Inningen will also get an insight into the new technology and when two other firefighters can take their machinist exam and thus receive their driving license.

Meanwhile the tender for a crew transporter is already running.

“With that we would be technically well equipped.

What we lack are enough comrades, ”said Lohmeier.

He also addressed children and young people who join the well-organized youth fire brigade and can thus prepare for a later service.
