Luka Doncic resolved the duel between Dallas and Celtics (110-107) with two triples in the last 15 seconds.

The Slovenian guard, who turns 22 on Sunday, continues to demonstrate his extraordinary talent and ability to solve matches.

Precisely at a time when many specialists and former players have questioned his being chosen to form the starting five of the West in the All Star on March 7 because they believe that Damian Lillard has done more merits than him, the star of the Mavericks has once again been decisive.

In the voting for the appointment of the stars, the players and the press chose Lillard over Doncic, but there was a dead tie in favor of the Slovenian, who prevailed over Lillard in the fan vote.

Doncic is the axis on which the game turns for the Mavericks, who maintain their chances of fighting for the playoff spots, despite the losses of Porizngis and Kleber, injured.

They are ninth in the West with 15 wins, two fewer than Denver and Golden State.

Doncic had six triples, 31 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists.

And it was decisive.

The Celtics trailed by 11 points with three minutes to go, but they had a tremendous reaction and a Jaylen Brown basket gave them an advantage with 37 seconds to go.

Doncic hit a triple and made it 107-105 on the scoreboard.

Brown scored again and tied the game at 107. But Doncic solved with a triple with only a tenth of a second to go.

He thus retaliated for the final triple that he had failed against Portland on February 14 and that would have forced extra time in that game that the Maverciks lost.

  • LeBron and Durant will be the captains of the All Star on March 7 in Atlanta

"He's just a unique player, a unique person," coach Rick Carlisle said.

"The connection of players like Luka, Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Larry Bird or Kobe Bryant is that these are guys who have that laser-like approach in these kinds of situations."

Brunson, with 22 points, and Richardson, with 16, stood out alongside Doncic.

The Celtics added their fifth loss in their last seven games despite 29 points from Jaylen Brown, 28 points from Tatum and 21 from Kemba Walker.

Reservations for the All Star

The NBA announced the list of players designated by the 30 NBA coaches to attend the All Star on March 7 in Atlanta, as reserves.

For the Eastern Conference, the chosen ones are Harden (Nets), Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum (Celtics), Julius Randle (New York), LaVine (Chicago), Ben Simmons (Sixers) and Vucevic (Orlando).

The starting five is made up of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant (Nets), Beal (Washington), Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee) and Embiid (Sixers).

The reserves in the West are Gobert and Mitchell (Utah), Lillard (Portland), Paul George (Clippers), Anthony Davis (Lakers), Chris Paul (Phoenix) and Zion Williamson (New Orleans).

The starters are Curry (Golden State), Doncic (Dallas), LeBron James (Lakers), Kawhi Leonard (Clippers) and Jokic (Denver).
