Former US President Donald Trump has sent a speedy recovery to Tiger Woods, his friend and golf partner, who was injured yesterday (Tuesday) in a serious car accident near Los Angeles.

"I have no doubt he will return," Trump said in an interview with Fox News, adding that he is a big Woods fan, both professionally and personally.

"As a golfer he's just inconceivable. He's also a great guy."

In May 2019, a few weeks after winning his fifth Masters title, Woods received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump in a multi-participant ceremony on the White House lawn.

"Because it was Tiger, everyone wanted to be there," the former president noted, "Woods considered it the greatest honor of his life."

"I just want to tell him to feel good and get out of it because we all miss him. We need Tiger," Trump added.

"When Tiger competes, which usually happens, the ratings are double or triple. There are not many people who can cause such a phenomenon."

As you may recall, Woods was injured yesterday morning (at West Coast Time) in a serious car accident when he was the only one involved in the accident.

The golfer was rushed to a hospital in the Los Angeles area suffering from severely defined leg injuries, but his life is not in danger.
