Polish striker Robert Lewandowski became the third-best goalscorer in the history of the European Champions League, after reaching the 72nd goal of his career in the European competition.
According to Opta Statistics, Lewandowski, by scoring a goal against Lazio in the Champions League round of 16, surpassed Raul Gonzalez, the former Real Madrid striker, in the competition's list of historic scorers.
It is noteworthy that the Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the historical top scorer in the Champions League with 134 goals, followed by Lionel Messi with 119 goals.
