Necat Aygün played for SpVgg Unterhaching and TSV 1860 during his career. In the interview, the former defender talks about the upcoming S-Bahn derby.
Munich - Trained as a footballer with the Löwen and Besiktas Istanbul, became a derby hero as a player in SpVgg Unterhaching, then back to 1860 via Duisburg, Ingolstadt and Sandhausen - Necat Aygün has experienced a lot in his career as a defense specialist.
Since February 2020, the man from Munich, who will be 41 years old from Friday, has been working as technical manager for sports at the second division club Karlsruher SC.
In an interview with our newspaper, Aygün remembers the memorable 2005 derby and looks ahead to the duel on Friday in the Grünwalder Stadium.
Mr. Aygün, are you often asked about your brace for Haching in the 4-1 win against the Lions in front of 50,000 spectators in the arena?
I notice that the news on Instagram is getting more and more in the days before the derbies, plus the questions from journalists (laughs).
This day is still very present for me back in December 2005.
I didn't play regularly in front of 50,000 fans.
And there was a very special atmosphere even before the game.
All the experts only discussed the amount of the Löwen-Victory, that was an extra incentive for us.
In the game it quickly became clear that Sixty had underestimated us extremely.
The 4: 1 was okay.
After the game, we really enjoyed the pool area in the arena.

At the time, you had to play with a mask because of a broken nose and scored twice in goal. Did you hang the good piece on your wall at home?
(laughs) No, I didn't go that far after all.
The mask is stowed in a box in the basement with other souvenirs from my active football days.
But if there is a need, I can lend it to the people of Haching for Friday.
Maybe it'll help break the curse.
Eleven games without a win, that's remarkable even for Hachinger's second half of the season.
I wouldn't have thought it was possible that it would hit her so hard.
But the personnel change and the long-term failure of pillars such as Stahl, Hain, Endres and now Hasenhüttl is already brutal.
I hope they can still get around.

I'm skeptical of my lions, even if Haching can play the outsider role freely.
But then against Halle I see good chances.

And how do you see the lions' chances of being relegated?
It is a well-known phenomenon that a break always comes in when you can make the leap forward.

They have always been there in the derbies this season, and they shouldn't let this series break on Friday.
