The President of the Football Association, Brigadier General Hatem Al-Ghayeb, confirmed that the Federation is continuing its efforts to include a number of professional players abroad through the Committee of Expatriate Players in the Federation and in coordination with the coach of the first team to reach a strong squad to participate in the joint qualifiers for the Asian Cup and the World Cup.
Al-Ghayeb said during a press conference at the Football Association headquarters in Al-Faiha Sports City in Damascus today: “A local camp for the first national team will be set up before the two friendly matches scheduled for the twenty-fifth of next month against the Bahrain national team and on the thirtieth of it in front of the Iran national team as part of its preparation for the qualifiers under the supervision of the coach Tunisian Nabil Maaloul ”.
Al-Ghayeb referred to the importance of the Football Association sponsorship contract by the "All Sport" company, as its most prominent clauses stipulate a financial reward for the national team if it qualifies for the Asian Cup and a similar reward if it qualifies for the World Cup in addition to setting up a camp for the team and playing a friendly match with a European team at Qualifying and playing a friendly match with an international team at a good level every year, in addition to a percentage of profits from selling the official team shirts and providing multiple sports equipment for the Syrian Professional League and other football teams.
He pointed out that the television rights for the Syrian Professional League will be for three seasons, starting from the current season, after one of the companies obtained the transport rights, indicating that the Football Association is awaiting ratification of the contract by the General Sports Federation.
Al-Ghayeb clarified that there will soon be a discrimination committee in the union whose members will be carefully selected, provided that its work will be added to the work of the disciplinary and appeal committees to decide on the decisions issued by the two committees.
Regarding arbitration, the Vice President of the Football Association Colonel Zakaria Channel indicated that the federation is working to expand the base of referees with a focus on quality in coordination with clubs, indicating the importance of keeping pace with the development of arbitration, especially with the emergence of arbitration of the mouse who needs more experience within conditions that are not easy because they are Requires specific hours of actual arbitration.
