Exactly four weeks after the first boats, the German-French sailor Isabelle Joschke arrived in the port of destination of the Vendee Globe.
The 44-year-old had given up on the 62nd day (January 9th) of the circumnavigation of the world due to a boat damage, after repair work in Salvador de Bahia, Joschke reached Les Sables d'Olonne on Wednesday in sunshine as a straggler.
"It was very important to me to finish this circumnavigation," said Joschke, who was born in Munich, in the port of Port Olona.
You have "not made the decision directly to continue".
For her, however, it was ultimately about "ending the story so that everything has a meaning and I can get back on my feet."
The British Sam Davies is expected on Friday afternoon on the French west coast, she had already given up on December 3rd.
Alexia Barrier from France is due to arrive on Sunday, the Finn Ari Huusela on March 5th or 6th as the last participant in the race over 24,365 nautical miles.
The French Yannick Bestaven won the race at the end of January, Boris Herrmann (Hamburg) finished fifth after a collision with a fishing boat shortly before the finish.
