The goal that could have decided the season
The drama is live
This is Flamengo's seventh championship, and the second time it has won twice in a row, and for Radona since the Zico days in 1982-83.
Team coach Rogerio Sani, the former Brazil international Sao Paulo goalkeeper, was appointed to the position in November and managed to lead Flamengo to the title thanks to an impressive recovery and makeover.
He became the eighth winner of the Brazilian Championship both as a player and as a coach.
"We did not get the result we wanted, but what matters is your place at the end of an entire season of 38 rounds," he said at the end, "I am sure that tomorrow Rio de Janeiro will be a happy place."
