On Thursday, Marita Kramer was still the big loser in the individual competition. In the team competition she has now led Austria to the gold medal. In the end, not even a meter made the difference.

The Austrian ski jumpers won the gold medal at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oberstdorf.

In the team competition, 1.4 points - the equivalent of 70 centimeters - decided the world title: Austria won because the Slovenian world champion Ema Klinec did not get more than 95.5 meters in the last jump of the competition.

Third place went to Norway.

Marita Kramer was once again an outstanding jumper: the Austrian jumped 102.5 and 104 meters and led her team to victory.

After Nika Kriznar jumped 106 meters, it looked like the favored Slovenian women were catching up, who were only 1.4 points behind after the first round.

For Kramer it is a happy ending for the time being after she had to contend with a decision of the competition jury in the individual competition on Thursday: The judges had shortened the run-up before Kramer's second jump.

After she had won the first round, she only came fourth.

ÖSV President beside himself

“This is a mess, this is unbelievable, this is manipulation.

It was shortened for no reason, ”said ÖSV President Peter Schröcksnadel of the“ Tiroler Tageszeitung ”.

On March 3rd (5.15 p.m., TV: ARD, Eurosport), Kramer will get another chance to win an individual gold medal on the large hill.

It wasn't the first disappointment for Kramer this winter.

At the World Cup in Rasnov, the overall leader to date was not allowed to start because she had an invalid corona test.

As a result, Kriznar took the lead in the World Cup, which the Slovenian still leads today.

The German ski jumpers had no chance in team jumping.

Led by Katharina Althaus, the DSV athletes also played no role in the battle for the medals in the second competition of the home World Cup.

In the team competition, the quartet Althaus, Juliane Seyfarth, Anna Rupprecht and Luisa Görlich took fifth place.

The defending champion's deficit on the podium was enormous. After eight jumps, Germany is 34.5 meters short of third place.
