After his two World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy last week (giant and parallel), Mathieu Faivre finished second in the giant Bankso, Bulgaria this Saturday, behind the Croatian Filip Zubic (0''40).
But "the feat" is to the credit of his compatriot Alexis Pinturault.
The Courchevel skier, currently at the head of the big crystal globe, indeed lost a stick when he hit a door with his right hand in the first part of the second heat.

He continued like this, resisting and giving up a minimum of seconds to finally clinch fourth place, 1''06 behind the winner, while he was third at the end of the first round.
Consolation for him, Alexis Pinturault is ahead of the Swiss Marco Odermatt (5th at 1''52), his main competitor for the general classification, and thus increases his lead.
Thibault Favrot, he finished seventh, at 1''77, his best result on a World Cup giant.
Faivre and Pinturault will have another chance to win this Sunday as a second giant is scheduled in the Bulgarian resort (first round at 10 am).
