The Starbulls Rosenheim have found their way back to success after three defeats in a row.

On Friday evening, the green-whites defeated the Black Hawks Passau 7-2 in their penultimate home game before the start of the playoffs in the ice hockey Oberliga Süd in their home ROFA stadium.

The press release in full:

Rosenheim - The Starbulls played in the first third against a seemingly overwhelmed guest team of the Black Hawks Passau the frustration of the last defeats from the soul.

The Rosenheim team did not notice the absence of Michael Baindl, Florian Krumpe and Philipp Lode.

Attack after attack rolled onto the goal of the Dreiflüssestädter, the Rosenheim leadership at the beginning of the fourth minute of the game was the logical consequence.

After a pass from Dominik Daxlberger, Curtis Leinweber did not hesitate and sank the disc from half-distance in the top right corner to make it 1-0.

After that, the home side missed a number of excellent scoring opportunities until the protagonists of the opening goal reversed roles for the overdue 2-0.

Leinweber used Daxlberger and he cleverly placed the target past the guest keeper (12th).

Then Tobias Meier scored a double strike.

First the nimble striker completed a great Rosenheim power play combination in the open short corner to make it 3-0 (15th).

Exactly 60 seconds later, Sebastian Stanik sent him steeply, prevailed in the running duel against a Passau defender and converted ice cold to 4-0 (16 th).

The often very reactive Passau goalkeeper Clemens Ritschel prevented more Rosenheim goals in a one-sided first section.

The second third started as the first had ended - only the goal scoring was no longer right from Rosenheim's point of view.

The guests, on the other hand, used one of their up to now rare chances to make it 4: 1 (30th):

Paul Pfenninger completed a single performance with a low shot.

Less than a minute later, Curtis Leinweber restored the old distance with his second goal that evening when he successfully poked and maneuvered the game device from an impossible angle to make it 5-1 over the goal line (31st).

The game went back and forth, the guests from the three-rivers city were suddenly equal, Starbulls goalkeeper Jonas Stettmer regularly challenged.

A

ls Jonas Franz able to close completely free for a position error of the Rosenheimer defensive and the disc from a short distance in the right upper Torgiebel second Passauerstraße results countersunk was STETTMER powerless (36).

But this time it only took 21 seconds for the Starbulls answer in the form of a Rosenheim goal.

Alexander Höller achieved it by dusting the disc that was whirling through the air just before it hit the ice to make it 6-2 over the goal line (37th).

Previously, Passau keeper Ritschel had been able to save against Kevin Slezak, who was driving freely towards him.

In the final third, the Black Hawks first set the tone.

Rosenheim's goalkeeper Jonas Stettmer was able to distinguish himself several times in dangerous shots and in two Passau solo attempts on his case.

The Starbulls only provided one highlight: The goal for the 7-2 final score - Tobias Draxinger was successful from the half-left position with a full shot into the top right corner (48th) - was remarkably in the style of a power play combination, although both Teams had five players on the ice rink.

The “real” power play, however, no longer worked;

even when the Starbulls were on the ice with five against three outfield players for almost a minute in the closing stages, they failed to shoot at goal.

Passau's Jan Kana, on the other hand, had twice the third guest goal on the racket, but could not overcome the convincing Stettmer between the posts of the Rosenheim goal but also completely free from close range.

The Starbulls are free of play on Sunday.

The away game in Deggendorf was canceled due to a suspected corona case in the opposing team.
