In the US basketball league NBA there was a strange jersey change on Saturday night.
In the game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Atlanta Hawks, both teams were difficult to distinguish for television viewers in the first two quarters.
Therefore, the Thunder changed the jersey color at half time.
The Thunder started in orange jerseys, the Hawks in red.
On TV recordings, it was difficult to tell the players from both teams apart, especially in fast situations under the baskets.
After half-time, the Thunder came back in white.
However, nothing changed in their break management until the end of the game.
The Thunder won 118: 109 (63:55).
Specification of the league
"To be honest, I didn't notice it or even think about it," said Thunder coach Mark Daigneault.
“It was a league requirement that we responded to.
They brought this to my attention at halftime when we went into the locker room.
So the guys put on white jerseys. "
The NBA has a computer system that is supposed to control the jerseys of both teams.
Before a game, the teams transmit their jersey selection to this system, which checks any conflicts.
As the US broadcaster ESPN reported, it was the first mess in more than 4000 games in which the program was used on Friday night.
