The National Basketball League held another round today (Sunday), when again some of the games were postponed.
The round was marked by big surprises - Hapoel Hevel Modiin clung to second place in the table with an 88:92 home win over leader Elitzur Ashkelon, which is recording its second loss this season.
Elitzur Netanya dismantled Maccabi Ashdod 63:90 in a one-sided game, but Ofer Rahimi's team is still second in the table.
Another team that was surprised is Hapoel Galil Elyon, which saw the modest Maccabi Hod Hasharon beat them in Kfar Blum.
At the bottom, a mess - Elitzur will build back to life with a second consecutive victory, 103: 109 over Hapoel Ramat Gan / Givatayim in overtime, while Hapoel Acre with only a third victory this season surprised Elitzur Kiryat Ata away 97: 101.
Hapoel Hevel Modiin - Elitzur Ashkelon 88:92
The second loss this season to a leader from Ashkelon, who again succumbs to one of the teams that is chasing her.
Hevel Modiin, which still lacks players due to Corona, recorded a heroic game, and managed to fight against the deepest team in the league evenly over 40 minutes.
In the last quarter, Modiin ran away with a 6-point lead, Ashkelon equalized, but Lace Dunn gave it a 2-point lead, one minute to go.
Ashkelon could have compared several times in the last minute but failed.
Dunn led Modiin with 26 points and Storm Warren added 20 of his own.
In Ashkelon, Clark Rosenberg stood out with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists.
Elitzur Netanya - Maccabi Ashdod 63:90
The southern team, which was second on the eve of the round in a heavy defeat at Yeshurun Hall, is losing its place in the Modi'in region.
Ashdod brought back Ike Opeibo who temporarily joined in place of Billy McShpard, and also played without the sick Raviv Pitchon and could not for the young team from Netanya who finished the game in the third quarter which they finished with a 42:67 advantage.
Bryce Washington led Netanya with 22 points, with the talented Itai Moskowitz finishing with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
Jordan Cohen's 19 points did not help Ashdod.
Hapoel Galil Elyon - Maccabi Hod Hasharon 79:70 A
great comeback and a big victory for Alon Stein's team that clings to the center of the table, Galil Elyon with a third loss in a row loses height.
The team from Kfar Blum started well and led 8:21 after one quarter, but from this stage Hod Hasharon systematically bit the difference until it took the lead in the last quarter, and a number of great actions by Arad Harari and Efi Tiomkin gave it a quality away win.
Harari with 16 points from the bench led Hod Hasharon with Harel Dadon adding 14. In the losing ranks, Jonathan Fairel recorded 17 points and 11 rebounds.

Guy Platin already thought he would come out a hero today after equalizing with a great shot and set up 96:96 at the end of 40 minutes, but the home team did not come under pressure and managed to finish the job in overtime.
Caleb Walker with 26 points in the premiere led Yavneh with Frank Hassel adding 25 points and 18 rebounds and Elad Hoffman scoring 19 of his own.
Mike Holton's 30 points and Platin's 26 did not help the Ordons.
Elitzur Kiryat Ata - Hapoel Acre / Mate Asher 101: 97
Second victory for Amit Tamir as coach of Acre in four games and the table closes does not mean desperate in the struggles for survival.
Kiryat Ata, on the other hand, continues to lose ground in the playoffs.
Acre dominated the game, leading by a double-digit lead during the second half before Ata managed to bite the difference and lower it to 2 points.
Marlene Will could have even equalized near the end but missed a free-kick.
Chris Smith led Acre with 24 points, with Tim Williams with 23 of his own and J.R. Holder with 22 hots as well.
Julian Boyd's 25 points and Will's 18 points and 15 assists did not help Ata.
