Red shirt, black pants: on the final day of every golf tournament, superstar Tiger Woods has a special dress code.

For the finale of the World Golf Championships in Bradenton, Florida, other representatives of the world's golf elite wore the iconic outfit in honor of Woods.

Stars like Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Patrick Reed competed in these colors at the Concession Golf Club to convey their wishes for recovery to the 45-year-old, who was seriously injured in a car accident near Los Angeles on Tuesday.

"At this point everyone should just be grateful that they're here, alive, and their children haven't lost their father," McIlroy said.

Participants in other events on the PGA and LPGA tours also took up the gesture and played in Woods' colors.

Two days after the accident, Woods was transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he is currently receiving further treatment.

“The treatments were successful.

He's recovering now and is in a good mood, ”said the management of the 82-time PGA Tour winner.

Woods had gotten off the road in his car on Tuesday, rolled over several times and seriously injured.

Several open fractures on the right leg and injuries to the ankle are known to date.

It will probably take months before the long-standing number one in the world can run again.
