The German Nordic combined athletes won the silver medal at the home World Cup in Oberstdorf.

Terence Weber, Fabian Rießle, Eric Frenzel and Vinzenz Geiger only had to admit defeat to the strong Norwegians around high-flyer Jarl Magnus Riiber in the team competition.

The gap was a good 42 seconds.

Bronze went to the quartet from Austria.

Two years ago in Seefeld, the selection of national coach Hermann Weinbuch also brought silver behind Norway.

After the ski jumping, the German team started the cross-country race in second place behind Austria.
