Arsenal FC, ailing this season, surprisingly won the Premier League at Leicester City.

The 3: 1 (2: 1) in third place in the table is the second victory in the last six games, there were also three defeats and one draw.

Youri Tielemans even put the Foxes in the lead (6th minute), but David Luiz (39th) and Alexandre Lacazette with a penalty (45th) turned the game around before the break.

The outstanding player at Arsenal was Nicolas Pépé, who also scored for the final score (52nd).

The winger took out two penalties, the first was conceded by the video referees (14th), Pépé Leicester's Wilfried Ndidi shot in the arm in front of Lacazette's goal.

For coach Mikel Arteta, the win was little satisfaction for the bad table situation, which was "unacceptable", as he said.

Leicester had previously been unbeaten in four league games, and in the week before last they beat Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers' team struggled with injury problems against Arsenal, with Harvey Barnes and Jonny Evans injured.

Midfield star James Maddison was absent from the start with a hip injury.

Leicester is already 13 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Not only Arsenal but also Garth Bale have had the high expectations problem since his return to Tottenham.

In the 4-0 (3-0) win of the Spurs against Burnley, Bale was now the decisive player.

Bale scored twice (2nd, 55th), and he also prepared Harry Kane's goal (15th).

Lucas scored the preliminary decision to make it 3-0 (31st) after just half an hour.

It was the game Tottenham fans had probably been waiting for.

The Welsh superstar kept falling out and showing himself unfit after his return last September.

Instead of in the Premier League, Bale was mostly used in the cup competitions, in the Europa League he last convinced in the second round against Wolfsberg.

The brace against Burnley was Bale's first since 2019, at the time for Real Madrid against Villarreal.
