 - Now everyone is waiting for the decisions of the politicians: The Bavarian Football Association (BFV) staked out the key data for restart scenarios in the amateur leagues in an online meeting of the association game committee on Friday.

The two-year pandemic season 2019/21 should end on June 30 at the latest.

If this is not possible due to official restrictions, the season would be canceled.

Then the round would have to be evaluated according to Paragraph 93 of the BFV game regulations using a quotient rule.

As the only exception to this “deadline” on June 30th, according to the Donau / Isar district game director Ludwig Schmidt, the district cup final could still take place at the beginning of July.

However, it shouldn't get that far.

The Bavarian Football Association wants to wait for the decisions of the federal government on sport in general and on football in particular this week in order to plan the next steps.

By April 24th at the latest it should be back to countable things

The aim of the association game committee would be to start the second BFV main round of the Toto Cup by April 24th at the latest.

From then on, the remaining league games, the relegation and the league cup should be brought to an end.

In the league cup, the qualified clubs should be asked whether they still want to compete in the competition - after all, it is planned to play the knockout rounds during the week.

However, whether and when the restart comes depends on the pandemic situation and the decisions of the state bodies.

As soon as normal team training is permitted again, the match officials will allow three weeks to prepare.

According to Ludwig Schmidt, this period was considered acceptable in terms of sports medicine by sports doctors who work for the BFV.

Needless to say, it is assumed that the actors are already in a good state of fitness beforehand.

Running training, cardio and stretching exercises should be part of the daily routine of amateur footballers from now on at the latest.

Nevertheless, the 59-year-old district game director does not believe that politics will allow full football training with contact from next week.

The three weeks of preparation time for the point games only begin when preparation games and training are allowed under normal conditions.

The punctual start of the new season has top priority

In all scheduling considerations at the Friday conference, the top priority was that the 2021/22 season should start on time.

In the Donau / Isar district that would be the weekend, 7./8.

August, without a weekly game day or then on 14./15.

August with weekly game day.

In addition, district game manager Schmidt is planning, in cooperation with the clubs, to discuss the possibility of new forms of play in the near future.

Not least thanks to findings from the pandemic, the traditional form of play with rounds out and back as well as overcrowded appointments could do with a renaissance.

The outcome and direction of this discussion is still completely open.
