The Washington Wizards and Danny Abdia suffered a painful and dramatic loss tonight (Sunday to Monday) to the Boston Celtics 111: 110 thanks to a huge basket of victory by Jason Taitum 4.7 seconds to finish in TD Garden.
This time, in contrast to the win over the Denver Nuggets last week (110: 112), Washington was on the wrong side of the drama.
The Wizards are now on a 19:13 balance while Boston, which surrendered to Washington just two weeks ago, is on a 17:17 balance.
The balance between the teams this season so far stands at 1: 2 for the Celtics.
Bradley Bill, who scored 46 points on a huge evening, missed a shot to 2 with two seconds left on the clock.
Abdia for his part continued the weak period after not scoring a single point (0/1 from the field), taking down only one rebound and snatching once.
The Israeli - who again did not start in the top five - suffered the third offense early in the second quarter, was brought down to the bench by coach Scott Brooks and recorded just 7 minutes of play.
This is the second time in a week that Abdia is in such a situation, after even in the loss against the Los Angeles Clippers last week he got into a similar problem.
And now for the big drama in the closing seconds.
After a close game for the most part, Washington led 105: 110 46 seconds to go and already saw the third straight win and eighth in nine games.
But then the wonderful Taitum (31 points) scored 6 points in a row unanswered by the visitors, setting a 110: 111 lead with a huge basket.
The Wizards will return home for another game on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday (02:00 Israel time) where they will host the Memphis Grizzlies.
