Fireworks in front of the stadium, tempo dribbles and a winning goal by force shot on the lawn: FC St. Pauli narrowly won the city derby. The HSV slipped from the promotion ranks.

Scene of the game:

It was the 88th minute of the game.

The HSV seemed to stand knockout, the FC St. Pauli fared little better.

Then Rodrigo Zalazar grabbed the ball, dribbled through the left half-space and chipped the ball wonderfully onto the right wing, where full-back Luca Zander had moved to the baseline.

Zander did not cross blindly into the middle, but carefully laid back on Daniel-Kofi Kyereh - and he finished with a lot of force in the short corner.

The first goal of the day, the only goal of the day: the derby was decided.

The result:

FC St. Pauli wins the Hamburg city derby against Hamburger SV 1-0, and both teams confirm their trend.

HSV, which slipped from the promoted ranks to fourth place and has been without a win for four games - and FC St. Pauli, until recently seriously threatened with relegation, but now unbeaten for five games and new eleventh place in the table.

Folklore, folklore:

bringing emotions into the football of the ghost game age is an art in itself.

HSV trainer Daniel Thioune tried to appeal to Hanseatic work ethic in advance and said: “HSV is Hamburg.

And Hamburg is not just the Elbe and Alster, Hamburg is also hard work, is also a port. ”Before kick-off, it was more of a port birthday around the stadium at Millerntor: fireworks lit the night sky.

And so it was, despite empty ranks, but somehow atmospheric before the duel of the city rivals.

Free kick training:

The Hamburg derby also got off to a spectacular start on the grass.

One man in particular took care of that: HSV high-tech technician Sonny Kittel fired free kick after free kick in the early stages of the game, all of them with force and almost machine precision.

A direct attempt from over 30 meters hit the crossbar after just one minute, and another free kick from an insignificantly shorter distance demanded St. Pauli goalkeeper Dejan Stojanovic everything (12th).

And Kittel also shone as a preparer: Gideon Jung headed a cross after the ball was at rest with a touchdown on the crossbar (21.)

Ziereis flees so he doesn't fly:

Of course

, so

many good free-kick opportunities only come about if there is a good foul.

This inglorious task has been taken over again and again by captain Philipp Ziereis for the Kiezkicker.

Referee Deniz Aytekin, on duty for the first time this season after an Achilles tendon operation, warned Ziereis after eleven minutes.

Two more offenses later, St. Pauli's coach Timo Schultz preferred to exercise caution: Ziereis left the field in the 28th minute;

Tore Reginiussen came into play for him.

Sailor's knot:

There wasn't much to see from HSV at that time.

A flick from St. Paulis Rodrigo Zalazar had announced the turnaround in the game shares (17th), Guido Burgstaller (23rd) and especially Omar Marmoush (27th) from an acute angle gave away further opportunities.

In any case, the Egyptian Marmoush, who came on loan from VfL Wolfsburg for six months in January, stands like no other for the upswing at Millerntor: The way Marmoush played opponent Jung in the HSV penalty area in his legs, the dynamic attacker has been dribbling since Weeks through the second division.

Nobody in the lower house seeks a one-on-one situation so often, in the first 45 minutes alone, Marmoush, the fastest player on the field at 34.91 kilometers per hour, won five direct duels.

At Ulreich it slips unintentionally:

After the break, the weak feeling of the previous week returned to the HSV stomach.

Referee Deniz Aytekin had just decided on a penalty for FC St. Pauli.

Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich had slipped a harmless, flat cross from his hands, the already warned Gideon Jung had rushed into St. Paulis Rodrigo Zalazar.

Already on the last day of the game, in the 2: 3 against the bottom of the table Würzburger Kickers, Ulreich's insecurities had contributed significantly to the defeat.

Aytekin looked at the scene again.

To put young off the field?

No, to take the penalty back.

The HSV took a deep breath.

The calm before the storm:

The rest of the second half was comparatively uneventful for a long time.

Simon Terodde shot into the opponent's goal once, but Aytekin was allowed to choose whether he didn't want to recognize the hit because of handball or offside (64th).

Burgstaller also had an opportunity (69th), but for the most part it looked as if both teams had come to terms with the 0-0 - until the appearance of Zalazar and Kyereh.

Sad end:

In stoppage time things got worse for HSV.

Tim Leibold, left-back, long-time favorite and top performer, let his frustration run free - and kicked opponent Guido Burgstaller without any problems against the shin.

Aytekin also examined this scene again in peace via video recording, this time he refused to show grace: Leibold looked straight red, HSV should be missing a few weeks in the promotion battle.
