What do Detlef Shrampf, Nicola Batum, Dario Saric, Kelly Ubera Jr., Omri Caspi and Hidu Turkoglou have in common?

Well, the truth quite a bit.

And this is the point - many of the similarities that connect the random list to this look, are exactly the reason why at one point or another Danny Abdia was compared to them.

We made up the shortlist only from names mentioned on NBA and Draft sites that are respected as players that Abdia "mentions."

Sometimes as his "ceiling" like Shrampf (who was a star for everything), sometimes as a "floor" like Ubera (which if he is the floor of Abdia, is a pretty optimistic forecast for him).

And now we'll use that list to see for a moment where Abdia stands in comparison to them, after more or less half of his rookie season.

And to get started, we need to talk about the Rocky of Washington.

No matter how you look at it, the first weeks of his NBA debut season were good from the sequel.

In the first 14 games - in all of them he started in the top five - he got 23.3 minutes per game and returned 7.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and was especially surprising with 1.5 threes per game at 46.7%.

In the 14 games in which a partner has since lost his place in the top five (he has not started in the last 12), he dropped to 19.2 minutes, and the output is only 4.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists, and most importantly - 0.6 threes per game in - 21.1% particularly bad.

And if that's not enough, then in his first 14 the team won only 5 and lost 9. In the last 14: 8 wins and 6 losses.

The match between Abdia's shrunken role and contribution to the Wizards' pace of victories over the past month is not playing in his favor.

But how worrying is the situation?

Of course there are a lot of nuances - for the bad (the momentum), and for the good (came to a crazy corona season and without normal preparation).

But let's take a moment to look at the rocky seasons of the guys we mentioned at the beginning.

On average, these six players got about 18 minutes per game in their first season, contributing 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

It's very similar to Danny's 1-4-6 right now.

Four of them scored less than Danny, and only one dropped more rebounds or delivered more assists than him (in both cases it was Sarich).

This is a bunch that eventually became all over legitimate players and above, who made long careers.

Something that Abdia is signing now.

Can learn from my money

Indeed, two disturbing things emerge from the comparison.

The first is the three-point shooting.

All of them, without exception, proved already in the first season that these are three-point shots that should not be left alone.

Anyone who has watched Abdia in recent weeks sees that teams are not afraid to bring help from his guard.

And secondly, no one showed a low percentage of use ("usefulness" = how much the player is involved in the attack) as of Abdia.

Not even those who came to the league are as young as him (Atom, Uber, Hido).

And here, again, one has to really go back to the nuances.

Abdia plays alongside two stars who barely release the ball, and that everything goes through them at a pace that is one of the highest ever.

But as much as the comparison to "Abdia 6" may be a little reassuring, it's certainly the last thing he himself should be - calm.

If there is one thing he can learn from my money, it is the assertiveness that the first Israeli in the NBA brought with him every minute on the field.

We have Omri's phone in the system, if anyone wants to connect them.
