Nikola Jokic continues his formidable season, in which he not only is nominated for an MVP title, but also puts himself in Denver history.

Tonight (Monday through Tuesday) the Serbian center led the Nuggets to a 112-118 victory over Chicago as he finished with 39 points, 14 rebounds and 9 assists, becoming the first player in Denver since Carmelo Anthony to record at least 10 games in one season with 35 points or more.

"It's just luxurious when such an MVP nominee is with us," Denver coach Michael Malone said of Doncic. "He's my candidate, Nikola Jukic is the player I would build a team around, as we did in Denver, and with great success."

Jukic, who was one assist away from scoring a triple-double 50 in his career, scored 17 points in the final quarter and helped his team secure the win after losing a big advantage.

"We were a little careless at the end," Jukic said at the end, "so I just wanted to be aggressive, change the pace, and I think I was successful."

Carmelo Anthony provided his best game of the season this morning, sniping 29 points with 60 percent from three (6 from 10 over the arc) and setting a season-high record in points, threes and steals (5) in Portland's 111-112 victory over Charlotte, which broke the Blazers' streak of four Losses.

At the end of the game Carmelo approached Lamello Ball, the rising star of the Hornets, and exchanged shirts with him in an exciting and symbolic moment of generational change.

"I'm trying to embrace the next generation and the young players," said Carmelo, who helped Portland set a club record of 24 three-pointers. "It was fun to play against him (Bull) tonight. I saw him play when he was in high school. "Playing him closely, getting to know him and seeing what type he is - it was natural for me to do that at the end."

At one point in the game Bull Tomb Three, and immediately after that made the hallmark of Carmelo with the three fingers.

"He can do it," Carmelo said, adding with a smile, "Although only once, but I told him he could do it."

Mutual respect, rhyming names.

* James Harden recorded his seventh triple-double tonight since arriving in Brooklyn, leading the Nets to a 113-124 victory over San Antonio.

"The saying 'get used to it' should be applied here," Kyrie Irving said of his friend's display, who became the first to score at least 30 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds without losing a single goal.

"When James plays like James, it makes the job of all of us easier," Irving said, "so we have to get used to having someone like that, breaking records. So I look forward to being by his side, in the history of Brooklyn Nets, and all of us The team is currently breaking records, and personally we are next to some of the best players. "

Harden, who in the previous game had 6 turnovers, was happy that tonight it went smoother.

"If I'm the point guard (coordinator), and the team and players give me the responsibility to hold the ball, I have to do a good job with my dedication, make sure they are accurate and not give the opponent points."

But what provided Arden was also Brooklyn’s defensive display in overtime, after the Nets lost an advantage and were dragged into overtime.

"We hear all the talk about us not being a good defensive team," Harden admitted, "we try to improve it, and find a way to be better."

Harden is now preparing for a meeting with the ex, the Houston Rockets.

"We'm excited to play basketball, to get back to a place where James is having a great career," said Irving. "It will not be about James and his presence, we will come to Houston to enjoy basketball and play at a high level."
