The relegation-threatened Bundesliga soccer team Arminia Bielefeld has signed Frank Kramer as the successor to Uwe Neuhaus.
The former DFB junior coach Kramer (48) signed with the promoted team until the summer of 2023.
Arminia has not won five games in a row, but the separation from Neuhaus (61) on Monday came as a surprise in view of the time and standings.
Bielefeld is table-16 with 18 points, tied with a non-relegation place.
In addition, the East Westphalia still have some catching up to do.
The separation from ascent coach Neuhaus was therefore sharply criticized in social media, among other things.
The coaching association was also critical.
In his career so far, Kramer had already worked as an interim coach for the Bundesliga club TSG Hoffenheim and as a coach for the second division Fortuna Düsseldorf and SpVgg Greuther Fürth, and he also coached the U18, U19 and U20 of the German Football Association (DFB).
Most recently he worked as a junior manager at Red Bull Salzburg in Austria.
Kramer will make his debut in the coaching bench of Arminia on Sunday (6 p.m. / TV: Sky) at the home game against Union Berlin.
