2021-03-03T07:22:27.258Z

The 28th day of Ligue 2 smiled on Troyes and Clermont, both easy winners on the outside, unlike Toulouse who fell in Valenciennes (1-0).

Troyes and Clermont consolidated their position at the top of Ligue 2 by winning respectively in Chambly (0-3) and Guingamp (0-5), unlike their main competitor, Toulouse, beaten in Valenciennes (1-0 ), Tuesday during the 28th day.

Téfécé, certainly still third, is now three points behind Clermont (2nd) and six over Troyes, a solid leader.

Toulouse is also joined in the number of points (52) by Grenoble (4th), which won at Le Havre (2-0).

Troyes with complete peace of mind

In Beauvais, Troyes hardly had to work hard to win against Chambly, 19th and penultimate, reduced to ten in the 38th minute following the exclusion of Bradley Danger.

On the direct free kick that followed, Tunisian striker Yoann Touzghar opened the scoring with a nice shot in the top corner (0-1, 40th), his twelfth goal in the league this season.

And two minutes later, the Turkish Umut Bozok doubled the mark from the penalty spot (0-2, 42nd), before Brandon Domingues scored a third late in the match (0-3, 87th).

Dark Guingamp

In Guingamp, the former resident of Ligue 1 and double winner of the Coupe de France (2009, 2014), is hard to see, now in 18th place, that of barrage.

Frédéric Bompard's team, reduced to ten just before the break following the exclusion of Bryan Pelé, totally sank against Clermontois who scored five times by Jim Allevinah (14th), Jodel Dossou (32nd), Mohamed Bayo (54th), Jonathan Iglesias (65th) and Jordan Tell (72nd).

Clermont continues a fourth victory in a row, with nine goals scored in two matches after his demonstration at the expense of Valenciennes (4-0) on the previous day.

With 17 goals, Mohamed Bayo for his part consolidates his position at the top of the scorers' standings.

Toulouse gift

Valenciennes (8th) redeemed itself well from its rout in Clermont by winning 1-0 at the expense of Toulouse.

The Belgian Baptiste Guillaume took advantage of a gift from the Toulouse central defense to score the only goal of the match (19th).

A defeat for the Violets that suits Grenoble, winner 2-0 in Le Havre thanks to goals from Willy Semedo (18th) and Anthony Belmonte (69th).

Paris FC, winner at home from Dunkirk 1-0 (Abdi's goal in added time), found themselves 5th in the standings on Tuesday evening, but five lengths from Grenoble and Toulouse, while Auxerre fell to 6th place in two points from the Parisians, after their draw in Amiens (1-1).

Sochaux is still 7th, but now three points behind Auxerre after his fine 3-1 victory at Niort.

At the bottom of the classification, finally, Pau got out of the red zone (17th) by pushing a little more Châteauroux (1-0), 20th and last.
