A big victory for Hapoel Holon in the historic performance in Europe.
The Yellow-Purples defeated the Italian Brindisi 85:87 tonight (Wednesday) in their first game in the top 16 of the FIBA Champions League, despite appearing for the game in boot country with a missing squad. Isa Miles remained in Israel, the injured Richard Howell could not play, and if Not only that, Tyros Maggie was sent off after spending just 15 minutes on the floor,
but Stefanos Dadas' team showed a lot of character, achieving much thanks to X Factor Niv Misgav, who shone with 12 points and signed crucial moves that helped the guest erase a five-yard deficit. Points with a minute and a half to go, Guy Pnini's three 18 seconds to go completed the turnaround, and another free-kick by Willy Workman set up the game.
CJ Harris and Chris Johnson excelled with 17 points each, Tyros Maggie managed to score 13 before he was sent off, and the Israelis Misgav (12) and Pnini (11) also reached double digits.
Holonia marks V for the first game in the first house of the Top 16, to which they were drawn apart from Brindisi together with the Turkish Topash Bursa and Karsiyaka.
