Maccabi Tel Aviv stopped a streak of four Euroleague losses and tonight (Thursday) defeated Valencia 72:84 in front of 300 fans in the hall.

This victory does not change much in terms of the Yellows' chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals in the factory, but at least it sends a message that Yannis Sapropoulos and his players intend to fight until the last minute and take every game seriously even when the chances of promotion are not in their favor.

Scotty Wilbkin played a few minutes and threw only once to the basket, so Tyler Dorsey (17 points) took command and led his teammates in a quality second half against the tired Spaniards who completed four away games in eight days.

Omri Caspi, who contributed significantly to the escape in the last quarter, scored 14 points in less than 14 minutes.

Next week, Maccabi will go to Athens, where it will meet Oded Katash's Panathinaikos for a game between two teams that will not reach anything this season, but tradition and picantry will surely do their thing.
