Robert Lewandowski extended his contract with FC Bayern Munich on December 13, 2016, making him the best-paid player in the Bundesliga.
As a regular, Lewandowski was able to bring it to 22 million euros per season with title and performance awards, an annual salary of 15 million euros was guaranteed Lewandowski.
For the signature alone, there was a one-off payment of five million euros on top of that.
The record deal was negotiated by Lewandowski's longtime consultant, who had already piloted him from Lech Posen to Borussia Dortmund in 2010 and transferred to Munich four years later: the Pole Cezary Kucharski and Maik Barthel, a player agent from Dresden who now lives in Liechtenstein.
»One million euros higher«

Now, around four years later, Lewandowski claims that Kucharski and Barthel cheated on him when the contract was extended in 2016.
On the day of the signature, he learned "that my gross salary for the first year of the contract was one million euros less than the amount that Mr. Maik Barthel had informed me about."
At the same time, Lewandowski went on to say, "the commission of the managers, that is, Kucharskis and Barthels, was one million euros higher" than the amount that his agents had "told him before".
