Formula 1: after the officialization of Portugal, the calendar is validated

The 2021 season kicks off on March 28 in Bahrain. Twenty-three races are on the program.


Who will succeed Lewis Hamilton on the list?

A first element of response will be given from March 28, at the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the inaugural stage of the 2021 Formula 1 season. This event will be followed by 22 others, the calendar having been officially unveiled on Friday 5 March.

The return of an Aston Martin

Canceled in 2020 (like 13 other events) because of the Covid-19, the French Grand Prix returns to Le Castellet on June 27, like that of Monaco on May 23.

The Australian Grand Prix, which was scheduled to open the season on March 21, has been postponed to November 21.

Finally, that of China, initially scheduled for April 11, has no new date.

The 72nd edition of the Formula 1 World Championship will see several new features in the teams.

The Spaniard Fernando Alonso, titled twice with Renault (2005 and 2006), is back in the French team, renamed Alpine.

The German Sebastian Vettel (winner from 2010 to 2014 at Red Bull) will be driving an Aston Martin, back after his last appearance in ... 1960.

Two French people will be present: Esteban Ocon, Alonso teammate, and Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri).

Sébastien Grosjean, victim of a terrible accident at the end of last season in Bahrain, will be driving IndyCar in the United States this season.
