Maccabi Tel Aviv yesterday (Thursday) passed one of the highest hurdles it encountered this season when it was left with ten players against Hapoel Haifa away and still managed to win 0: 2 and collect three more important points in the championship fight.
"We passed the biggest character test we had this season," the players said last night on the way back home.
"In a team of substitutes, coming and winning with ten players, a good team like Hapoel Haifa, is a huge test of maturity for all of us. It's not easy to play most of the time after Maccabi Haifa when you know you have to get three points."
The one who made sure to establish the victory was again Dor Peretz who experienced an amazing season and is currently the season player of the reigning champion.
Peretz upgraded his game this season and made joining the attack and scoring goals a natural thing.
Maccabi Tel Aviv and Peretz are in talks about a new contract for a few years and Maccabi Tel Aviv hopes to close with the player who will also lead the Israeli team in three weeks.
